Inu

A name comes to mind to the face I'm looking at.
My name is Inu.
I am this furred creature that is looking back in the water.
In my mind it makes perfect sense.
— Inu, seeing his reflection
Inu is the main protagonist of the Red Side of Twelve Thousand. After waking up mysteriously in the apocalyptic world of The Tower, seemingly transformed from a human into a dog-person, he must come to grips with his new life and learn to live amongst the non-human Daemons that populate this new world.
Personality
Inu is dead set on his ideals and personal values, and is curious about mystical/spiritual phenomena. However he also prefers to remain distant from others unless spoken to — in his human life he felt like the world would rather have him conform to the formula everyone else follows, culminating in a depressive misanthropic mindset.
When he first finds himself in The Tower he's so distraught about the change that he pushes the others away and has a short fuse. He slowly warms up to the others as they help him get used to his new world, coming to trust Hawke and one other (depending on the route) the most.
Development
In early concepts of Twelve Thousand, Inu was the deutoragonist to Hawke. These roles were reversed later on.
