Rand Donohue is a Unity Link character from Witness to Unity.

Personality

Metia's neighbour and a long-time friend, Rand is clingy and has low self-esteem, resorting to drug use to cope. The Nuish World puts a lot of stock in manual labour in the workforce, and he is unable to contribute due to pains in his hands. He spends a lot of time wasted to numb physical and emotional pain.

When more sober, he can be desperate to prove himself useful to others to the point of harm, but he does feel joy and relief when others benefit from what he can do.

Development

Rand was originally made as a joke character back when I was a teen, literally named "random hippie" — Rand O'Mhippie. The less said about this, the better. His hippie-like design traits have been toned down since, and I took it upon myself to make his use of mind-altering drugs marginally more interesting.

The blotchy nature of Rand's markings were designed to be reminiscent of vitiligo.
